Inspired by the director's own marriage, a moving tale about the search for identity, love, growing up quickly and the battle against a fatal illness that is nearly impossible to win.
A chance encounter between Lena and Benek, who seem not to have a lot in common, leads to an unexpected romance. The couple embarks on a crazy journey as they immediately fall for each other and get married in a lavish ceremony. A harsh reality hits the two when Benek learns Lena has cancer and doesn’t want to seek treatment. Their situation is further complicated when Lena becomes pregnant and, despite doctors’ advice, the couple decide to go through with the pregnancy.
A smart, modern drama set in contemporary Warsaw with touching performances by Agnieszka Żulewska and Tomasz Schuchardt.
The film’s plot was inspired by the true story of Magdalena Prokopowicz, founder of Rak’n’Roll foundation who was one of the first people in Poland to talk about cancer and her fight with the disease in a direct and often uncompromising way.
