From the director renowned for heart-warming comedy dramas like “Back Then”, and “These Daughters of Mine” comes another feel-good story, infused with a vibrant 'carpe diem' spirit'. Adapted from Jakub Małecki’s novel “Feast of Fire”, it seamlessly weaves together tales of hope and personal triumph of two sisters as they confront life’s intricate challenges.

An energetic and nonverbal 20-year-old Anastazja, with a love for comics and hot chocolate, observes the world from the vantage of her wheelchair. Her unwavering optimism stands in stark contrast to her sister Łucja, a promising ballet prodigy who wrestles with the limitations of her body as she prepares for the coveted ballet opportunity of her dreams. As they each confront their personal challenges, their lives are transformed by the arrival of their eccentric neighbour, Józefina, whose presence leads them to uncover a long-hidden family secret.

KINGA DĘBSKA

Kinga Dębska, director of box office hit These Daughters of Mine and Back Then was born on September 4, 1969 in Bialystok. She is a screenwriter and director of feature films and documentaries. She has a Master's degree in filmmaking from FAMU Film School in Prague and a Master in Japanology from Warsaw University. Before becoming a director she worked as a journalist. Her films have won awards at many film festivals. These Daughters of Mine (2015) was officially selected at Rome FF and won the Audience and Journalists Award at Gdynia FF. She is also the author of award-winning documentaries. Her documentary Actress (Aktorka) was awarded with a Golden Grape at the Lubuskie Film Summer.
