Polish-Icelandic crime drama shot against the backdrop of the volcanic landscape of Westman Islands in Iceland directed by the late Árni Ólafur Ásgeirsson, an Icelandic director who studied film directing at the prestigious Polish National Film School in Lodz.
Anna is released on parole from a Polish prison after fifteen years behind bars. Once free, she has but one goal - to settle accounts with her past. She quickly breaks her parole and travels from Warsaw to Iceland in search of a mysterious Dorota. Despite a frosty reception from her old friend, Anna makes it clear she is not going to leave until she gets what she came for. Soon Anna’s arrival disturbs not only Dorota’s life but that of many other residents of the small tightly knit Icelandic community.

ÁRNI ÓLAFUR ÁSGEIRSSON
Icelandic film director born in Reykjavík in 1972. He studied film directing at the prestigious Polish National Film School in Lodz, Poland, graduating in 2001. Árni Óli's career began with the celebrated short film "Anna's Day" (2003), which traveled widely and won awards at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. He co-wrote the Róbert Douglas feature "A Man Like Me" (2002) before making his own feature debut as a director with the film "Thicker than Water" (2006). His second feature, "Brim" (Undercurrent), was released in 2010. Árni Óli's third feature as director was the animated film "Ploey: You Never Fly Alone" (2018), which also had a successful festival, theatrical, and broadcast run. His last film "Wolka", was released posthumously mid this year. Produced by Iceland's Sagafilm, "Wolka" tells the story of a Polish woman, recently released from prison, who breaks parole to travel to Iceland to confront her past.
